Chronicle

Chronicle is a 2012 science fiction film directed by Josh Trank and written by Max Landis based on a story by both Trank and Landis. Presented as found footage from various cameras, the film stars Dane DeHaan, Michael B. Jordan, and Alex Russell as a group of Seattle friends who gain powerful superhuman abilities and use them for mischief and personal gain until one of them begins to use his powers for darker purposes. The film was released on February 1, 2012 in the United Kingdom and Ireland and was released in the United States and India on February 3, 2012. It received positive reviews from critics.

Chronicle is pretty much about three teenagers who discover a hidden passage underground where they find some sort of crystal that gives them superhuman strength after touching it… yes, that is pretty much it. However, of the three teens being, Steve, Matt and Andrew – Andrew because the somewhat villain of the movie, after he starts adapting to his powers more quickly and becomes the strongest one out of the group after he because more evil as the days go by.

Chronicle stars Dane DeHaan as Andrew Detmer, Michael B. Jordan as Steve Montgomery, Alex Russell as Matt Garetty, and Ashley Hinshaw as Casey Letter as the main people in the movie, which minor parts from Michael Kelly as Richard Detmer, Bo Petersen as Karen Detmer and Anna Wood as Monica.

As stated above, this movie is just about how the three teenage boys develop their powers and how they control them why themselves are changing over time. Without spoiling it. One of them does die, and the last two have an all-out battle to the death, with, obviously, only one of them winning.

Honestly, that’s all it is. Not that it is a bad thing at all. Don’t get me wrong. It was an alright movie, and it did entertain me, and keep me entertained for the first hour. After that, though, it well, really got dull and kind of boring. Even with all those special effects and crappy ‘people on a string’ flying. I really doubt i would give it a second viewing, but then again, that’s just me.

Other than thast, i really don’t have anything else left to add. Go and check it out at your local cinema if you haven’t already. It is at least worth a watch, and also, if Dragon Ball Evolution when this way somewhat, it would have been quite badass, and actually good… rather than the utter-crap we got for a movie, and then also, i guess there wouldn’t be as many butthurt people about it right now, but can you blame them? Dragon Ball Evolution was terrible. 3/5 – Chronicle. Not Dragon Ball Evolution.

Red State

Red State is a 2011 American independent action-horror film, written and directed by Kevin Smith, starring Michael Parks, John Goodman, Melissa Leo and Stephen Root. The film co-stars Ralph Garman, Kevin Pollak, Kerry Bishé, Haley Ramm, Kevin Alejandro, Anna Gunn, Kyle Gallner, Michael Angarano, and Nicholas Braun.

For months, Smith had maintained that the rights to the film would be auctioned off to a distributor at a controversial event to be held after its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, but instead Smith purchased the film himself which, according to analysts, “might have been a difficult sale for any distributor.” Smith originally planned to self-distribute the picture under the “Smodcast Pictures” banner with a traveling show in select cities, before officially releasing the movie on October 19, 2011. Kevin Smith listed Mel Gibson as his inspiration for how he planned to distribute this movie, citing Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ as an example of a successfully self-distributed movie.

Red State was a different type of film for Kevin Smith – many people know him as the guy that made Clerks, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II, and Zack and Miri make a Porno – and what do all of those have in common? Well, they’re all comedies. Kevin Smith is mostly none for doing comedies. Even though, Dogma was somewhat a religious-comedy. However Red State is an action-religion-cult movie.

This movie stars the fantastic Michael Parks as Pastor Abin Cooper, John Goodman as ATF Special Agent Keenan and Melissa Leo as Sarah. And of course a bunch of other people, teens, kids, and cameos. Not a lot of locations are used in this movie. Less than five locations are used in this whole movie. Which is great if you want to keep you money. However, this movie was made on a 4 million dollar budget, and so far has only made one million which is a shame, because i actually enjoyed this movie.

The whole of the movie takes place in the cult church run by Pastor Abin Cooper with the help of his family. People in the church are blood related to him in some way or another; be it by marriage, sister, brother, auntie, niece, cousin, etc. Abin, of course, is the main guy here, he is a crazy as fuck god-lover-pusher who has created a cult that kills people who are guy, bi, lesbian, and who do not believe in the way of the lord. Everyone pretty much gets killed besides Abin who ends up in jail. John Goodman’s character Joseph; however, retires from his job after all the mishaps at the church, with the deaths of so many people.

Red State was a really good movie. Kevin Smith doesn’t always make great movies. In-fact, Clerks, Chasing Amy, Clerks II, and Zack and Miri are his only good movies, but now you can definitely add this one to the list. Red State is much different to Kevin Smith’s normal comedies. And i personally think that if he really went with a proper distributor instead of being an idiot and self-distributing it. He may have made lots more money, but hey, that’s just my opinion, man. I do suggest checking out Red Sate. Buy it, Download it, Watch it any way that you can. You’ll probably find it to be good.

Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie

Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie is a 2012 comedy film written, produced and directed by Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, creators of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!. The film stars both Heidecker and Wareheim. Supporting actors include Zach Galifianakis, Will Ferrell, Jeff Goldblum, John C. Reilly, Erica Durance, and Will Forte, many of whom guest-starred on Awesome Show. It will be released to theaters March 2, 2012, and was released to iTunes and on-demand January 27, 2012. This is the second movie based on an Adult Swim show, after Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters.

As a huge fan of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! – When i heard Tim and Eric had a movie in-production I was so excited. Tim and Erich ave created some of the greatest comedies in a long time. Not to take anything away from Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen, Kevin Smith and others. But, Tim and Erich ave their own imaginations, and damn, what an incredible one they have.

Now, some people believe that a Tim and Eric movie wouldn’t work at all, and that’s completely understandable. Their humour, gags, skits, jokes and persona isn’t really for everyone – the thing is, you either like Tim and Eric, or you hate Tim and Eric, and that’s completely fine. I, myself, like Tim and Eric, so i enjoyed this movie… for what it was. Sure, it wasn’t the greatest movie, and it’s most definitely not going to be nominated for much, sadly.

Like i said, their is already so much bad feedback for this movie, and most of that is from the Tim and Eric haters who don’t really get the humour. I do think that if people watched the show more. Then they would definitely have liked this movie just a little bit more. Nonetheless, i think i should get on with this review.

The movie starts with Tim and Eric showing a preview of their movie staring a fake Johnny Depp impersonator, and the real life Erica Durance in Paris, France. However, that is just a movie within a movie-within a movie. I know, it’s a lot to take in, but it does make sense at the end. The Executive Producer’s of the film The Shlaaaaang company, want heir money back for the piece of crap that was made. Tim and Eric see a commercial by Will Ferrell as Damien Weebs; a Shopping Mall owner in the Swallow Valley – promising anyone that can, they will get one billion dollars if they run this mall and make it earn money. Tim and Eric travel across the country to head to this mall.

And, well, that’s pretty much the plot of the movie. I’m trying not to ruin the whole movie for you, because i believe anyone should see this movie, whether you’re a fan of Tim and Eric or not. So wit that said, head on over to your local theatre and check it out, or purchase it on Video on-Demand.

Kyle is at an art gallery with the librarian. He is pretending to like them. He sees Rachael kissing some other guy. So he takes a photo of her without her knowing.

Rachael comes back home and wakes up Adam. Kyle walks in right after he. He talks about his date with the librarian, Claire. He shows Adam the photo of Rachael kissing the other guy. Rachael is talking to Adam, trying to make excuses for herself. Kyle tries to kick her out. She cries and walks out. The next morning Kyle and Adam are walking down the street with the dog. Another dog owner comes slog. They walk off and Adam says he looks like Voldemort. Kyle is talking about using Adams cancer as a way for sex. They’re now at a club. Kyle is trying to get him to tells girls he has cancer. Adam walks up to a girl. He tells her, and she walks away. They get the girls to come over for some weed. They’re having sex at Adam’s. She stops because Adam’s back is hurting. The next morning: Kyle is sitting naked in the lounge room watching movies. Katherine is waiting outside for their date. She walks in, and her and Kyle share a joke. It’s The only Girlfriend he likes. Adam and Katherine smile as the movie ends.

50/50 was a really enjoyable movie. I liked it a lot, and as a fan of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, i enjoyed it even more. Especially since those two guys were producing it. The story was well done, and if Funny People went this way with their cancer/drama/comedy movie, i really think that movie would have been much better, too. And don’t get me wrong. It was great. And this movie was great, too. And, funny enough, it hasn’t even been released in Australia yet. I got sick of waiting. However, it does get released March, 2012. This is a solid movie, and it deserves 4/5.

30 Minutes or Less

30 Minutes or Less is a 2011 American action comedy crime film directed by Ruben Fleischer starring Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride and Nick Swardson. It is produced by Columbia Pictures and funded by Media Rights Capital.

This movie was originally released on August 12, 2011 in the United Stes of America. Sadly, it won’t be getting released in Australia until February OR March 2012. Which this being the first of February, i just had to download it. So, yes, i did download it. I got sick of waiting for it to come out.

As a huge fan of Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari and Danny McBride when this came out i was so excited to see it. And well, when i found out it wasn’t going to be getting released for a while, i got sick of waiting. As i said above, i just downloaded it, watched it today and i am not so much going to give a review of the whole thing. But i will talk about it a little bit. Because frankly, I did enjoy this. As a comedy and a crime film, it was good for what it was. Sure, it could have been better, and sure it isn’t the greatest of films, but it was still enjoyable.

Jesse Eisenberg as Nick Davis, a Pizza boy. Aziz Ansari as Chet Flanning, a substitute teacher. Danny McBride as Dwayne King, Michael Peña as Chongo, Fred Ward as The Major, Dwayne’s father, and Nick Swardson as Travis Cord are the main people. And of course there are some other minor spots that aren’t really worth mentioned, but you can always check those out on the IMDb page, and Wikipedia if you feel like it.

The movie starts off with Nick, speeding down the highway, trying to get to the place he needs to in 30 minutes or less, which of course is the famous saying for pizza companies worldwide. They do this for the first ten minutes, until we first get the chance of meeting Dwayne and Travis who devise a plan of killing Dwayne’s father and getting an inheritance of lots of money. But first, they need to get a lot of money to hire a hitman who would go and kill Dwayne’s father. So Dwayne and Travis think of an idea to get someone to rob a bank for them.

They evidently get Nick to rob the bank after ordering a pizza. Nick comes over to an abandoned (somewhat) junk yard at night time. Dwayne and Travis walk out of a room with monkey masks on. Nick tries to run away but Travis tackles him down the ground and knocks him out – later that day, Nick wakes up and has a bomb strapped to him. Dwayne and Travis explain to him what is happening and what exactly is going to happen. They explain that if he doesn’t rob the bank and give them the money, then they are just going to blow him up, so he better do as they say. Oh, and he only has less than ten hours to do it.

Thirty minutes later, and Nick has robbed the bank with the help of Chet, his best friend. They give chase down a highway, various steets, and side streets, and dodge lot’s of people until the chase comes to an end when they get side-swiped by an on-coming car. However, Chet and Nick run away down some streets and get away from the police. Nick sets up a meeting with Dwayne and Travis. However, Chongo the hitman turns up instead. Hell breaks loose – Nick and Chongo get into a fight with the help of Chet, and Nick and Chet run away. They call Dwayne to see what the fuck was going on. However, that doesn’t go anywhere as Dwayne and Travis kidnap Kate; who is Chet’s sister.

They sort out a place to meet, and it turns out to be the same place Nick originally went to deliver the pizza. Anyway, Chongo appears there too and tries to shoot everyone. However, Travis shoots a flame-thrower around. Killing Chongo. Nick, Chet and Kate run away… ending the movie with Dwayne giving chase, however, Nick put the bomb in his car and it blows up.

30 Minutes or Less was a really fun movie for what it was. It doesn’t take it’s self too seriously at all, and you’re not meant to either. It has it’s gags, jokes, stunts and other stuff, however, for a crime/comedy movie, it was done well. It could have done with some better comedians, because to me it just feels like Nick Swardson was out of place in this movie. But, that’s just me. They could have gotten a better person to do his role. I’m giving this a 3/5.

WWE Royal Rumble 2012

The WWE Royal Rumble 2012 was on yesterday live from St. Louis, Missouri. The main event scheduled, of course, was the Royal Rumble 30-man match. This of course was also the 25th Anniversary of the Royal Rumble, and we even got a special treat – Hacksaw Jim Duggan made a special appearance, as he was also the very first Royal Rumble winner ever.

Some of the other matches scheduled was World Heavyweight Champion: Daniel Bryan taking on The Big Show and Mark Henry in a Steel Cage Match. Kane versing John Cena, An unscheduled 6-women Diva’s tag team match, and WWE Champion: CM Punk taking on Dolph Ziggler with Executive Vice President of Talent Relations: John Laurinaitis as special guest referee.

World Heavyweight Championship – Steel Cage Match:
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Mark Henry vs. Big Show

This was the first match of the show. And for this to be a Steel Cage, and for the World Heavyweight Championship I am actually quite surprised it had not been on later in the evening, either before the WWE Championship Match or after… but not before the Royal Rumble match it’s self. However, that said – i really enjoyed this match. Daniel Bryan really had the stack set against him, and a lot of people didn’t think he was going to retain the title at all, which is completely understandable, however, i still had that hope, and i am really glad that he had won this match. They even had a good ending with Big Show holding Daniel Bryan with one hand over the cage. Great ending with Daniel Bryan getting Big Show’s grip loose to win the match and retain the title.

Eight-Diva tag team match:
WWE Divas Champion: Beth Phoenix, Natalya, Brie & Nikki Bella vs. Kelly Kelly, Eve, Tamina & Alica Fox

This match was complete filler. With that said, though – i will review it properly. To be honest, it wasn’t a bad as a match as some of the Diva’s matches have been from over-time, and i understand the fact the WWE had to find a place for the Diva’s to be on the show, which is completely understandable. However, i’m kind of glad it finished quickly, but i also liked the spot where Kelly Kelly jumped off the top-rope/turnbuckle onto the top of the other Divas on the ground. That was actually good, and i kind of marked out.

John Cena vs. Kane

This match has been building up for a while – with the return of Kane at the end of last year, he was supposedly going to go after Mark Henry who was the then World Heavyweight Champion, due to being injured by him earlier, however, Kane came back to try and force John Cena to ‘embrace the hate’, which of course was just filler for John Cena until WrestleMania XXIII where he will be facing The Rock in the mainevent. To be honest, it was a pretty much pointless match, but there was a good spot where Kane was pulling along Zack Ryder in a wheelchair and pushed him over, i laughed a lot. Other than that, it was kind of pointless.

Brodus Clay vs. Drew McIntyre

This was an alright match. However, i am really sick of Drew McIntyre losing constantly. There is really no point in him being there anymore. This just being a filler much, and pointless just to get more airtime for Brodus Clay was worth it. If that’s what they were going for. But i just feel sorry for Drew McIntyre – he went from being ‘The Chosen One’ to be a glorified jobber, and it’s really, really sad on his part. There really isn’t anything else to mention about this match. It was what it was. Filler!

WWE Championship:
CM Punk (c) vs. Dolph Zigger
Special Guest Referee John Laurinaitis

This WWE championship match was a weird one. Sure, it was good, but it was by far not the best match of the night, i really enjoyed the World Heavyweight Championship steel cage match more. However, with that said, This match was still good, heck, even the Special Guest Referee Johnny Ace was good. He did his job, and he didn’t even have to screw CM Punk over this time. Even though, they’re threatening him that he may indeed lose his job on this weeks episode of Monday Night Raw by Triple H. But, this match was good with a lot of other finishes, CM Punk hit his finisher multiple times, and we even got two ref-bumps. Which was fun, the match was really planned to a tee. It had to be, actually. It needed to be really, really planned to pay off, and it completely did. I am somewhat excited to see what happens this week.

30-Man Royal Rumble match

It’s now time for the 30-Man Royal Rumble match! And has you can already tell by the photo, Sheamus does indeed win the Royal Rumble and will be heading the WrestleMania XXVIII to either face the then World Heavyweight Champion, or the WWE Champion. It is completely up to him… or the behind-the-scenes management. However, i will not be going through every single notable thing, elimination and entrant. However, i will be doing the most important ones. Right away it felt completely set-up with The Miz being #1, Alex Riley #2 and R-Truth #3. All of these three guys have had prior history, and felt completely pre-planned really, really bad. The 7th entrant was Mick Foley. Who i was still hoping would come-out two other times as Cactus Jack and Mankind… and even Dude Love. Which would have been awesome! But, it didn’t happen, sadly. Ricardo Rodriquez came out next in his really shitty car which was pretty funny. All three announces of the show were also in the royal rumble; Jerry Lawler #12, Booker T #17, and Michael Cole at #20. Of course none of the lasted long at all. Kharma also made her return at #21 and completely destroyed Michael Cole… somewhat – he was also eliminated by his co-announcers. We also got a special appearance by Road Dogg. Which was great, he can still go… surprisingly. The home town hero Randy Orton camea out at #28, however, he did not win. Which i am glad about, i just find him really, really boring to watch. Chris Jericho and The Big Show were the final two entrants. Chris Jericho and Sheamus were also the very last two people in the match with Sheamus picking up the win.

Sadly this wasn’t the greatest Royal Rumble at all. Infact, it was kind of lame. Entertaining. But, very, very lame. If i was rating this out of 5? I’d give it a 3. Or, 5.5/10. However, i try and stay away from rating things. But, still, i am looking forward to this years WrestleMania, it will be good, and i really hope so. Because last years WrestleMania was just terrible. Also, i don’t see myself purchasing this event on DVD. It just wasn’t that great. Thank you for reading. Do you agree with me? Hate me? Hate my views, opinions, etc? Goodbye Chuck (2007-2012)

Well, as of January 27th, 2012 NBC’s hit Spy/Comedy show ‘Chuck’ has officially come to an end with a massive 2 hour (Chuck vs. Sarah and Chuck vs. the Goodbye) finale.

Over the past five years you have either liked the show Chuck, or you hated it. I, myself, liked it… a lot. I really enjoyed the show, even when it was going to get cancelled after season three, four and then possibly not even going to get a fifth season at all. I have been a fan of Chuck since mid-first season. Due to living in Australia. We don’t really get the same shows at the exact same time they have aired in the United States. So I really didn’t get the chance of season Chuck until the mid-first season.

Despite that little hurdle. Chuck has been a great show, i have been an avid follower since then, and i was even apart of the “SAVE CHUCK” campaign during the years it was actually going to get cancelled. But, nonetheless, it did last another three seasons ending with the fifth and final season this past Friday Night.

Chuck as a whole has had it’s up’s and down’s. It has had a total of 9 different timeslot changes in the past five years, with the fifth season having the horrible Friday night death slot. Much to the surprise of NBC, it still had it’s fanbase after all of the changes happening.

But i guess that’s enough about that, i would rather just talk about each season, and well, run down memory lane.

SEASON ONE

Season one of Chuck – just like any other television series is the pinnacle point of establishing your characters, and with a show that has four main characters to begin with, it can be kind of tricky. However, they did it quite well with Chuck. Also, you can’t forget the other major story of the Intersect. Which is a government server of vast encoded data connected to every intelligence agency in the United States, such as the Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Agency, and the National Clandestine Service.

SEASON TWO

Season two saw the addition of Chuck’s father Stephen J. Bartowski played by Scott Bakula and Ted Roark played by Chevy Chase, and the continuation of the story of the Intersect and what it exactly does. Stephen Bartowski was the one that pretty much created the whole Intersect, and put it inside of Chuck via a computer program. And Ted Roark is trying to kill Chuck, also. So you can see how it would be a difficult situation for the spy team of Sarah, Chuck and John. On top of all of that, their is also the addition of the organization; The Ring; who want to kill and steal the Intersect from out of Chuck, himself.

SEASON THREE

Season Three begins with Chuck finally becoming a spy, but firstly he needs to go through lots of training, which will put himself, friends and family in danger all at the same time. This season also has two new additions to the supporting cast. One being Brandon Routh as Daniel Shaw former spy turned villain to take the intersect away from Chuck, and Kristin Kreuk as Hannah; Chucks quick, and new love interest. This season had many good episodes. However, one of my favourites was the episode “Chuck Versus the Angel de la Muerte“. Which was an almost all John Casey episode. Also, in the conclusion of Season three, the run are stopped by Chuck, the Buy More blows up, and we get the funeral service of Chuck’s father. A fantastic ending to an excellent season of Chuck.

SEASON FOUR

Season Four begins with the CIA now taking control of the Buy More and using it has hidden headquarters for Chuck, Sarah, Morgan and Casey as spy’s. Various actors make supporting and major roles in this season – Linda Hamilton as Mary Elizabeth Bartowski, Timothy Dalton as Alexei Volkoff, Olivia Munn, Isaiah Mustafa, Stacy Keibler, and Summer Glau as “Greta”, Ray Wise as Riley, and Gary Cole as Jack Burton. This season mostly focuses on the life and times of Chuck, Sarah, Alexei Volkoff, Mary Bartowski and Vivian Volkoff. The Volkoff family are trying to control the Intersect now that it is in their position to take over the world. However, It is revealed that a person gives Chuck and Sarah almost a billion dollars. Chuck purchases the Buy More from the government’s front company, and he, Sarah, Casey, and Morgan Grimes (Joshua Gomez) set up their own freelance spy operation in Castle to investigate the conspiracy involving Chuck. Morgan then spots a pair of glasses in a box of Chuck’s belongings sent from Beckman. Morgan puts them on and accidentally uploads an Intersect.

SEASON FIVE

The fifth and final season of Chuck was a good one, in all honesty is would have to of been the greatest season since three and – even four. I really enjoyed those two seasons, especially when the show was at it’s pinnacle. This season and the finale two episodes really returned to it’s roots, it was really retro, featured old places, remarks, hints, idea,s and some other stuff. One of the major storylines was Sarah loosing her memory, ending the series finale with Chuck trying to make her remember on the same beach from the first season. It was a really, really, really, beautiful scene to end this great series. Not only that, but their was an awesome scene where Jeffster perform in-front of an orchestra which Morgan conducting, it was truly amazing.

with that said, it’s always a shame to see such a good show finally come to an end, sure the show could have ended earlier during Season Three or even Four, but, it honestly didn’t feel right, at all. The fact it ended with Season Five and the ending we got was just enough to end the series the appropriate way. I will miss this show, but i guess that’s what DVD’s, Blu-Ray’s and Downloading is for, right? And i’ll guess we will never get to see that all-musical episode the producers were planing.

The 84th Annual Academy Awards – Nominations

The MPAA have officially released the nominations for this years 84th Annual Academy awards ceremony to be hosted by Billy Crystal, held on February 26th, 2011 live on ABC (Fox 8 – Australia) from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California.

I feel the need to admit, though, i am really not happy about most of the nominations, however, i haven’t had the chance to see all of those films nominated, as of yet. But of the ones i did see, they deserve every praise.

Also, one last thing… i won’t be mentioned all of the awards and nominations, only the ones i feel are going to win their respective category. However, you can find the full list here.

Alright, time to get this blog started. First off is the nominations for —
Best Motion Picture of the Year:

  • The Artist
  • The Descendants
  • Moneyball
  • This being the biggest award of the night and of all the awards – i find it disappointing that Drive hasn’t even been nominated… at all, the only nomination it got was for best Sound Design… Not to take away from any of those films above, but, dammit, Drive was just amazing. But i am backing The Artist to win this one.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role:

  • George Clooney for The Descendants
  • Gary Oldman for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
  • Brad Pitt for Moneyball
  • Another problem i have with this category is the fact Ryan Gosling has not been nominated for his AMAZING work in Drive. The fact the academy have skipped him is a shame, and a crime!

Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role:

  • Rooney Mara for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
  • Rooney Mara may not have a chance against the likes of Glenn Close and Meryl Streep, but i have hope… she was also great in The Social Network.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role:

  • Jonah Hill for Moneyball
  • I am a huge fan of Jonah Hill, and the fact that Christopher Plummer outs Jonah during the Golden Globes sadly means that Jonah Hill won’t win… but i am a fan and i hope he does win, he completely deserves it.

    Best Achievement in Directing:

  • Martin Scorsese for Hugo
  • Hugo is a really good film, and Martin Scorses completely deserves it.

    Best Original Screenplay:

  • The Artist – Michel Hazanavicius
  • Bridesmaids – Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo
  • This one is a bit tough, but out of them all, Bridesmaids and The Artist are the only ones i really likes. Bridesmaids was really, really funny, and i have a crush on Kristen Wiig… oh, my. And the Artist is just delightful

    Best Adapted Screenplay:

  • Moneyball – Steven Zaillian, Aaron Sorkin and Stan Chervin
  • After winning best Adapted Screenplay; Aaron Sorkin is back again, but this time it’s for the film Moneyball, and i really think he has a great chance of taking it out again.

Well that’s it for my views and opinions on the awards that really only matter… Oh, and one last thing, it’s awesome to see that fellow Australians have been nominated for best editing again. I can’t wait for the Oscars, as they’re only a couple of weeks away.
