Director: Larry Charles
Writers: Sacha Baron Cohen, Alec Berg, David Mandel & Jeff Schaffer
Producers: Sacha Baron Cohen, Alec Berg, David Mandel, Scott Rudin & Jeff Schaffer

I had the chance of seeing my second movie this week. Earlier this week, I also had the chance to see The Five-Year Engagement which was also a pretty good movie. This time around, however, I went and saw The Dictator.

The Dictator is a comedy film co-written by and starring Sacha Baron Cohen. His fourth feature film in a leading role “tells the story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed”. The film is directed by Larry Charles, who previously directed Baron Cohen’s mockumentaries Borat and Brüno. Cohen, in the role of Admiral General Aladeen, a dictator from the fictional North African country of the Republic of Wadiya, stars alongside Ben Kingsley and Anna Faris.

The film starts off with a pretty funny “In memory of Kim Jong-Il”, which was a brilliant joke to get you prepared for the movie. Unlike Borat and Bruno, this movie is scripted, a lot. Very different from what previously goes on in those films. However, that doesn’t take away from the brilliance of this movie, either. In fact, this movie was pretty, pretty good. Easily the best comedy of the year. We get an introduction into the character of Admiral General Aladeen, The Dictator of the North African Republic of Wadiya, he has been he ruler for many years, he is a lecherous, anti-western and antisemitic despot who surrounds himself with only female bodyguard (mocking a different dictator, who is now dead) and intends to develp nuclear weapons against the United States of America.

After the United Nations tries to intervene with their military against Aladeen, after they confirmed that Aladeen is indeed trying to create nuclear weapons. Aladeen heads to the United Nations Headquarters in New York City for the first time ever. During his first stay in the USA, he is kidnapped and shaven by a hired hitman (played my John C. Reilly), who was actually hired by Aladeen’s trator uncle, Tamir (played by Ben Kingsley). Tamir, all along, wanted to replace Aladeen with a decoy, who he can manipulate into signing a document democratizing Wadiya and opening the country’s oil for the soul purpose of business.

Aladeen evidently escaped and becomes friends with an anti-Aladeen activist Zoey (played by Anna Farris). She offers him a job at her co-op. Aladeen reconnects with his old weapons creator, Nadal (played by Jason Mantzoukas), who gets Aladeen to accept the job offer from Zoe, so they can infiltrate the UN meeting and confront Tamir. Zoey’s catering contract gives her access to the UN’s headquarters.

Aladeen eventually acquires a new beard taken from a black man corpse at a funeral, and infiltrates the headquarters. He finally gets in the main room and tears up Tamir’s document in front of the United Nations delegation, and for the rest of the world to see. Upon seeing Zoey in the room, he declares his love for her, and vows to democratize the country of Wadiya. Aladeen returns to Wadiya with Zoey, he marries her, but at the end, he is shocked to find out that she is actually Jewish, and pregnant to end the movie.

I really enjoyed this movie. I am a huge fan of Sacha Baron Cohen. I thoroughly enjoyed Borat, Bruno, and Ali G. Even though this is much different compared to those other films. This is heavily scripted. Yes, there is a lot of improvising, as expected with a comedy film, but that feel of Sacha hitting the scripts causing a ruckus isn’t there. But that still doesn’t take away from this brilliant comedy. So far, it’s definitely the comedy of the year, and I highly suggest checking it out.

I had the chance to see the Five-Year Engagement tonight. The Five-Year Engagement is a romantic comedy film written, directed and produced by Nicholas Stoller, starring Jason Segel (co-writer) and Emily Blunt as a couple whose relationship becomes strained when their engagement is continually extended. The film was released in Australia on 3 May, 2012.

As a huge fan of Jason Segel, Nicholas Stoller, and Judd Apatow, I just had to see this movie. Especially after the huge success of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, as a sort of different type of rom-com, also, Jason and Nicholas are just coming off the also hugely successful Muppets revamp, too. The Five-Year Engagement was possible the first ever romantic comedy I would have seen at the cinemas. I generally don’t bother with rom-coms, especially love ones, that tend to drift off, and be completely stupid. However, being the huge fan of Judd Apatow and Jason Segel that I am, I needed to see this.

The movie is about Tom (Jason), a chef, and Violet (Emily), a psychology graduate, they are currently living in San Francisco, USA. Who decided to get engaged after a year of being together. Their nuptials get interrupted when Tom’s best friend, Alex (Chris Pratt) gets Violet’s sister, Suzie (Alison Brie) pregnant after a one night stand together at Tim and Violet’s engagement party, after that, the two of them decide to get married, which happens before Tom and Violet decide to. The nuptials get delayed even more when Violet gets accepted into the University of Michigan as a post-dectorate in her field of psychology, which only lasts for two years. Tom agrees, because he loves her, and they move to Michigan to start their new lives. Also delaying their wedding even more. However, when he does tell his boss that he will be leaving, he becomes disheartened when she states that she was actually planning on making him the head chef of her new restaurant soon to open in town.

Violet settles into her new job under the professor Winton Childs (Rhys Ifans). She chooses her main thesis on people opting to eat stale donuts versus waiting for fresh donuts, she suggest that those who eat stale donuts are content with very low self-esteem. Tim unable to find a job, ends up working at a deli while taking up hunting. Tom and Violet’s nuptials get a further delay when her program gets extended indefinitely with her successful thesis. During this process, grandparents of Tim and Violet sadly die.

Years have no passed, Tom’s life begins to go down hill, fast. Which becomes evident to Violet when she sees him eat one of those stale donuts. While at a bar with colleagues, a drunken Violet and Winton kiss each other. Violet quickly regrets her judgement. She then visits Tim at work and tells him that they should plan their wedding right now, and she doesn’t say anything about what had happened with Winton. Tom makes the arrangements and puts everything together for the both of them. Everything starts going fine until Violet decides to confess to Tom about what she had previously done with Winston. Tom gets upset about their relationship, which reaches an end when Tom confronts Winston at their rehearsal dinner. Winston tries to apologize to Tom, but it doesn’t work. Tom refuses Winston’s apology and starts chasing him down the road, with Violet trying to catch up to them. Winston gets away. Tom then gets really drunk and nearly has sex with one of his coworkers, but decides against it. He wakes up half naked in a snow bit where he gets frostbite on one of his toes. It is later amputated when he is revived in hospital. At the hospital, Tom and Violet call off the engagement as they have way too many problems to deal with at the moment.

Tom ends up moving back to San Francisco and becomes a chef under Alex, who is now the head chef of the new restaurant in town after Tom turned it down to go with Violet. He also starts a new relationship with a hostess (Dakota Johnson). Tom’s parents and Alex see that Tom is still missing and loving Violet, so Tom breaks up with Audrey and Alex fires him, so he can go back to Michigan and be with Violet. Tom opens up a new food truck whree he makes specialty tacos. Violet starts a relationship with Winston and receives a promotion at the university, but she becomes upset when she learns the only reason she got the job was because of her relationship, and breaks up with Winston.

Violet’s last grandparent dies during the summer, Tom shows up at the funeral unannounced and asks Violet for another chance before she goes back to Michigan. Which she evidently agrees to. They begin to reconnect as she helps with his food truck business. While driving Violet to the airport for the last time ever, Tom says that he wants to be with her, and that he can take his truck taco business on the road to where she lives, so they don’t have to be apart, at all. Violet then quickly proposes to him, stating that they will always have problems together, but that shouldn’t stop them from getting married. Tom reveals that he was also going to propose to her at the airport, stating he was also going to say the exact same thing. They both agree and head towards the park to get married, with their friends and family waiting for them at the impromptu wedding. Tom and Violet finally get married to end the movie.

Final Note:

I really enjoyed the Five-Year Engagement. Has I have already stated; I am a huge fan of Jason Segel and Judd Apatow. So, I was definitely going to enjoy this completely, even if it was kinda shitty, but hell, this movie wasn’t shit at all. The jokes were funny, the love interests were completely believable, and it is possibly the greatest romantic comedy that I have ever seen.

Rather than starting from the beginning of the season, I thought I would just continue going weekly. If I had the time to go back and re-watch the two previous episodes, I would, but I don’t. Anyway, time for this weeks episode.

The episode opens with Marnie being surprised by her boyfriend Charlie’s new bald haircut. She hates it so much. He tells her that a bunch of people at work are going bald for their receptionist who is currently going through cancer. Hannah walks out of the bathroom wearing a Gothic outfit.

That jerk, Adam (who Hannah seems to like for some stupid reason) is working out at home. Hannah calls him and tells him to go to the window where she is waiting outside. He finds her outfit sexy, and tells her that he is going to keep her tied up for 3 days. Jessa and Shoshanna are in a room, Shosanna doesn’t like Jessa’s clothes choice for baby sitting. Back at Adam’s, and Hannah is sitting in his lap while he plays with her belly button.

Jessa is at the baby sitters house talking to the mother and kids. Back at Adams and Hannah tells him that she has some sort of STD. She accuses Adam of giving her the STD. He freaks out and lies about not having it. Hannah calls Marnie at her work and tells her that she has some sort of STD. Marnie starts crying.

Back at home Shoshanna is telling Hannah about some game show on some game channel. Hannah has no idea what she is talking about. The show is terrible. Hannah is talking to her about sex, even though she is a virgin. Hannah tells her about how she found out about her STD. Shoshanna tells her to tell the ex boyfriend about it and that it’s his fault. Marnie is at an Art Gallery with a bunch of her co-workers. Her boss tells some guy to fuck Marnie. He tells her to give less-of-a-shit and not care so much.

Hannah meets her old boyfriend at a bar. They share an awkward hug. She doesn’t beat around the bush. She is about to ask him if he was the one that got the STD. But before she can, he tells her that he is secretly gay. She didn’t know, of course. But now it’s out in the open. He doesn’t say that he he is gay or single, but he is just in a relationship with someone of the same gender. Hannah is (badly, terribly acting) crying. He tells her that she is the reason for him turning gay.

Outside of the art gallery, Marnie and some guy are running down the street. He asks her if she lives with her boyfriend. She says no, but she does live with her best friend. They share a joke. Marnie says that she isn’t going to kiss him. He accepts it. He tells Marnie that the first time he fucks her, he does it as a man, and it may scare her. Back in the art gallery, Marnie runs to finger herself.

Back at the baby sitters, the husband comes home to find that Jessa is sleeping on the couch. He asks how everything went. She tells him, and then he goes on about his night, and how terrible bad it was. The husband and Jessa smoke a joint. Back at the bar, Hannah is asking the ex if the whole time they were together, did he always want to have sex, and he says yes. He says that there is something male-like about her that he liked the whole time that they were together. She tells him that she has an STD. And it’s his fault. He says it isn’t his. And Adam was lying about not having the STD, because there is no test to check it out for men.

Hannah goes to twitter to write about how her ex-boyfriend is actually gay. But she changes it and sends a different tweet. Marnie gets home to Hannah dancing to music, and they joke about Hannah’s ex-boyfriend being gay while they dance to end the episode.

It was an alright episode. The show is great and it’s entertaining at parts. The characters however, are very terrible. I just personally think they need to do something different. The writing is great. Lena Dunham is a great writer! But the directing and editing are both terrible.

The show opens up to Stewie and Brian trying to find seats for an even where Authors reads parts from their own work, Stewie hates it! Cut to Gag #1: Dr. Seuss reading a part from his latest book, terribly-bad. Back to: Brian sits next to a cute girl who is also interested in what she is. However, the author didn’t show up. Brian starts chatting up the cute girl next to him, and, they follow her to her dorm room. Brian gives Stewie a Charlie St. Cloud DVD to watch while he has sex with the cute girl.

Peter is laying in bed, he awakes and asks Lois for a Poptart in please. She doesn’t responde, so he asks Chris, however, when Peter gets out of bed, it turns out that Peter has actually squashed Lois to near death. At the doctors, Lois has a brocken ribs and is now wearing a neckbrace, too. TRhe idiotic doctor believes that everything is thing, obviously it’s not. Lois is complaining that Peter gets her up all night with his terrible shinanigans. Cut to Gag #2: Peter is writing with one of those giant feather pants, narating everything he writes while Lois is trying to sleep. She finds it very annoying.

Stewie and Brian are in the car driving down the street, Brian is apologizing to Stewie for having sex with the girl and staying there all night. He offers to take Stewie to the part, he accepts, and gets knocked over by an annoying kid. An English girl named Penelope, checks to make sure he is alright. She offers to allow him to play with her toys. She offers a poison candy to the kid that pushes Stewie, he eats and and passes out.

Lois has set up the beds so now they’re two separate beds rather than the one big bed. Peter hates it. She tells Peter that she is sick of Peter squashing her in the night time. Peter lays in bed awkwardly. Telling Lois that even a man needs to cuddle with someone. Cut to Gag #3: Charles Bronson is laying in bed next to his wife, She is asleep while he talks to his wife. She wakes up, and turns around. He tells her to move over so he can hug her. She does.

Stewie is now at Penelope’s house playing with her dolls. He admits to like playing with her. She opens a secret lab in her room with a room full of weapons. Penelope admits to killing her mother. Stewie is facinated with her. At the Diner Peter is eating with Quagmire. Peter asks Quagmire if he can sleep with him. They both agree that it’s fine for 2 guys to snuggle each other.

Stewie and Penelope are causing chaos around town. They go over all their chaos in the best, and to see what is going to happen next. Stewie somehow, forces a title wave to hit a place. Cut to Gag #4: A title wave with dances on the top of hit, hit some place.

Lois walks in on Peter and Quagmire sleeping on the same bed. She is fine with it, even though she finds it completely stupid. She said that she doesn’t care, she just finds it strange. Peter and Quagmire awkwardly find positioning. They have a gay moment of Peter trying to take off his shorts with his feet.

Tom Tucker is reporting on all of the chaos Stewie and Penelope have been causing. However, no one knows it’s actually them. Brian figures out that it is Stewie and Penelope who has been doing all the bad things. He is trying to reason that Stewie used to do it for world domination, and Stewie should stop hanging around with her because she is a bad influence on Stewie, she is only doing things for herself.

Stewie is sitting down with Penelope having a meal. Penelope tells Stewie that he hates this ugly slut, Sharron, who is actually her daycare worker. She has a map of her house and offers to kill her by burning down her house. Penelope wants to kill Brian. After Stewie tells her that Brian said that they shouldn’t be hanging out together anymore. She tells Stewie to kill Brian. Voice Over Gag #1: A terrible voice over artist says that this episode of Family Guy is sponsored by EX body spray. Stewie is standing on the stiars contemplating killing Brian. But he doesn’t want to. Stewie stands up on a chair trying to kill Brian with a hammer, chloroform and a shoe string. Stewie passes out from a self-dose of Chrloroform.

Peter and Quagmire are laying in bed. They wake up at the same time. Peter helps Quagmire with his tie. Quagmire gives Peter coffee, the both of them go for a work out. A lot of other gay stuff too. Stewie going to Penelope and tells her that he couldn’t kill Brian because he is his best friend. Penelope tells Stewie that she is going to have to kill Brian instead. Cut to Gag #6: Joan of Arc is telling the army that she isn’t like other girls; she kills people and such. And she likes so much porn and she likes to play Call of Duty too! She isn’t like other girls. (This is just a play on Gamer Girls).

Lois walks over to Quagmire’s and tells Peter toc ome home, because she is sick of Peter living with Quagmire. She tells Peter that he can come home and snuggle with her anymore. She misses him. Peter agrees. At home, Stewie runs there to tell Brian that Penelope is trying to kill Brian. Brian gets a package in the male, but he knows it’s a bomb, so he chucks it against a truck and the package explodes. Stewie tells Brian about the whole thing. Penelope is at the house. Stewie and Penelope have a (pretty well done) fight to the death. In the end, they kiss each other.

Closing scene: Brian thanks Stewie for saving his life. Meg opens the door, Brian asks Meg what she has been up to. But before she can say anything, the show ends.

I really enjoyed this episode. And it was obviously a parody of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Which I am fine with, because this episode was pretty good. Well done, Family Guy!

I have wanted to start writing about TV more often than I actually get the chance to, unfortunately due to other commitments, work, and currently being sick. I haven’t really had the chance to. However, I thought it was time I did get around to it. This isn’t the first time I have ever written a TV review, it’s just mostly the first time I am going to be doing this way more often than I should be. I mean, I will be reviewing everything I watch.

The show openings up with a different type of opening than the normal downtown springfield characters opening. This time it’s a texted based opening of the final scene of the opening; we would normally have the Simpsons sitting down, but not this time. A very short opening. 7 AM Wake up for Bart, he goes through his Monday in multiple cuts, along with Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, too. Showing how boring his day-to-day life really is. Different mishapes happen. Bart seems really depressed, until he sees a commercial about Royalty Cruises.

Bart is overly excited about going on a Royalty Cruise, but Marge and Homer tell him that they just don’t have the money for it, due to Homer having to pay back a lot of other people money. Bart decides to sell all of his things and have a “Bart’s Everything Sale” to raise enough money so he can go on the Royalty Cruise.

Bart manages to sell all of his stuff, but still doesn’t even have enough for what he wants to do. Bart goes to sleep, wake up, and finds that now his Cruise jar is full of money. Thanks to Marge, of course – which he doesn’t know. However, Marge and Lisa tell Bart that the each of them sold things that they love for money so Bart can go on the cruise. Homer is angered that they sold his mini-pool table.

Homer and Marge drive part to the ship, the ship is really, really huge. It has everything a kid could want. However, Bart’s ship has been over-booked. However, again, Bart gets triple upgraded to an amazing room for himself and the family too. They’re checking out the place. Bart gets a list of all the fun things that he can do. He and Lisa, with Maggie run off, while Homer and Marge stay in the room and have sex… seriously.

Lisa walks into a Kidzone Elite – ‘for all the smart kids’, Lisa feels right at home with all the smart kids. Bart however, is a t the swimming pool having fun, doing all types of things. Go carting, rock climbing, Criss Angel-esq magic show, Cruise Ship History lesson, Cowboy Time, and a bunch of other stuff, too. All the family get to a dinner and chat. The Managing Director does a musical about how fun the time is on the boat, he tells (by singing) to the people that everything should enjoy it while they can before they head on back to normal life in their hometown. Bart seems to hate it, knowing that they will evidentally be going back to normal life soon.

Bart has a flash forward to where he is old, and dies next to Nelson laughing at him. Back to the boat and Lisa is talking to a guy who is telling her terrible picku up lines. Homer is dressed up as the Little Mermaid – Bart plays a fake video about the world coming to an end about how a virus is going to take over everything. Bart kills communication with the outside world buy pouring hotsauce on the computer.

The boat is now disgusting and all broken down with it looking gross and rundown, too. They have a new foreign captain. They have changed course for new land. Bart is telling people how wonderful it is now, however, everyone else hates it. The kids make a fake play on Professor X and Magneto from X-Men. Lisa and Marge show that Bart has been lying about the virus the whole time from the DVD they showed him.

Everyone finds out that Bart has been lying the whole time and now they’re so mad at him. The family get checked off the boat and stuck on an icecube. The family are forced to walk to an Antarctic research centre. Bart is making excuses for what he did. Homer tries to strangle Bart with his numb blue hands.

They find a Penguin sanctuary of all types of them. The family join them and have fun with the Panguins. Flash-forward to Bart in the future hugging a photo of his fun experiences.

Well, that’s it for the episode, and, this is the fourth last episode of the season. So far, this hasn’t been the greatest season, even though the 500th episode was pretty good.

The Avengers made it’s Australian debut today. I went to the midnight launch at the Kings Comics Midnight Launch event held at the Broadway Cinemas in Sydney, and boy, am I tired! I’m not going to get into how my whole night went, because if you are following me on twitter, then you would have seen me tweet my adventure.

Seeing The Avengers was the first time I have ever been to a movie launch, ever! The last time I went to the movies was to see Thor, which was also great. The Avengers is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast, which includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, and Samuel L. Jackson. In The Avengers, Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., recruits Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to save the world from destruction.

The film was really, really good! And surprisingly, it was really funny, too. The characters had good comedic timing, and the jokes weren’t stupid. They fitted perfectly well, especially for a movie that was meant to be taken seriously as an all-out action-superhero movie. When I first saw Thor, a lot of comedy was in it, especially between Thor and Kat Dennings character. And the back-and-forth action between Iron Man and Captain America was great also. Even the fight-competition between Hulk and Thor. God, so much was good about this movie, and I haven’t even gotten into the story yet!

The story was pretty simple. Loki (Thor’s brother) found a way to earth, took control of Hawkeye, and some professor, and he tries to open a portal to another dimension to unleash hell! But of course, Nick Fury, wasn’t about to let that happen. He assembles the forces of the Avengers, any way that he can, and it does work! Even with having the mighty Hulk lose control, and try to kill most of them. The great thing about this movie was indeed the characters, and how they got the life-like counterparts to play them. Robert as Tony, Chris as Thor, Chris as Captain America, and so forth. The casting was done well, as seen with the previous movies. And with the Avengers 2 already being announced for the near future, after the sequels of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, etc, in the works. It shouldn’t be too long. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is huge! And it’s going to be a hard thing to not watch. Marvel know how to make movies when it comes to it, even if they’re currently owned by Disney.

With all the work that has gone into the movie, not just in the Avengers, but also with the connection of Thor, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man and Captain America, it has paid of well. It had to, obviously. There really ins’t much I have left to say about this movie, I don’t want to really give anything away until America has seen it. Australia did get it first (second behind the L.A. release) compared to the rest of the world, which is completely incredible! So, I am being nice and avoiding spoiling it for other people who obviously haven’t seen it yet. I will be reviewing it on radio this coming Saturday, and I will most probably release a podcast this week or next.

With the new TV season in full commence-mode. The Walking Dead coming to an end. We don’t get the chance of having first-run television programs like in America. Sadly, most of us have to download our favourite shows; unless you would want to wait another 2-to-3 months for it to air on free-to-air television, Foxtel or Austar (PayTV). I myself, however, prefer to download the shows I like so I don’t have to wait. It’s not that I am an impatient person (I can be sometimes), it’s just, Australia get screwed when it comes to international television. It’s something people should be more passionate about. Especially when we seem to get fast-tracked shows, like: Jersey Shore, Keeping up with the Kardashians, Desperate Housewives, and so many more terrible shows.

I thought that I would start off by talking about ‘Game of Thrones,’ I’m not going to go into the whole backstory; not just because I haven’t read the books, it’s mostly because I don’t even know it. Seriously, it’s got a huge backstory, and four books, too. I was thinking of getting the books, hardcover, or just on the iPad, whatever. The point is, I may eventually read the books. But as for now, I have just been watching the TV series by HBO. It is simply amazing – currently in the second season, most of the shooting is done on location in Ireland, and some (very) minor stage work in California.

Three episodes in the second season – it has been a slow develop of the story. However, just with any new season, you need to be shown what is happening and what has happened to the cast since the ending of the previous season – and with a cast as big as Game of Thrones, I can understand why this would be such a small build up at the start. One of the really cool things in the very last episode was the cameo by Seth Rogen as a Texas Pitcher who gets run-over by a car. I am a Seth Rogen fanboy, and I would definitely see anything that he is in. Even if he is getting killed, and it’s a cameo.

Eastbound and Down has come to an end after three season on HBO. With a show like this: You either hate it or you love it. It had a good following. I myself, like it. I am a fan of Danny McBride and Adam McKay, so I did enjoy the series. Most of season 2 in Mexico wasn’t as great as the first season, sadly – but, It was still good enough. Season 3, was an okay ending… not as good as it could have been, but there was also no reason for their to be a third season. So I am kind of glad that they did end it. But who knows? A Baseball biopic-Kenny Powers movie may be in the works.

GIRLS debuted last night on HBO. I downloaded this show as soon as I found a torrent available. First of all: I have no idea who Lena Dunham his, nor do I even know who any of the other women or men are in this show. What caught my interest to this show was the fact that Judd Apatow was Executive Producing and writing an episode in this series. I am a huge Judd Apatow fanboy. Yes, I do admit to being a fanboy. I will pretty much watch anything he produces. That is the second time I have used fanboy in this blog alone. Wow.

Nonetheless, I did enjoy the pilot episode. So far, I don’t really like the main character, but I do thing some of the other characters are interesting. However, there was an awkward moment, where the main character didn’t want to have anal sex with a guy who wasn’t even her boyfriend. And yet, she said no, but he persuaded her to do it. I find that kind of awkward. Not just for myself, but I can honestly see the Womens rights getting worked up about it as I type this. However, besides that little point I just made. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and can’t wait to see what the rest of the series has for us.

After hearing that The Client List was getting made into a television series, Produced and Executive Produced by Jennifer Love Hewitt, I just had to check out the telemovie that it was originally based on, also starring, and Executive Produced by Jennifer Love Hewitt. The story is pretty simple. This women and man, married obviously, are having financial problems. She takes up a job at a massage parlour disguised as a whorehouse… sort of. Anyway, I really enjoyed the telemovie, it was well done. And, if you can get pass the very, very annoying Texan accent, and dialogue, then you will enjoy this show too. Jennifer Love Hewitt is definitely nice to look at. The series is currently up to it’s third episodes. So far, it’s good, and I really want to see how it turns out. Just like Girls, and Game of Thrones.

With that said, the next couple of months, a lot of good TV is on. Mostly American, and downloaded, which is completely fine. Because I have still been watching other shows than the ones just noted above – Breaking In, Awake, Saturday Night Live, Pretty Little Liars, The Simpsons and Family Guy, just to name a few.

Throughout the last couple of weeks I have been replaying Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption. I originally finished the game a couple of years ago, when it did originally come out. However, once I downloaded my xboxlive gamertag to a friends xbox. All of my saved games were gone, besides the achievements, of course. So, I have been slowly replaying some of my most enjoyable video games (when I do have the time), which is a lot, but I chose to start with Red Dead Redemption.

Without going into too many details on the game and the story, which you can find here. Red Dead Redemption is a massive game. It’s Grand Theft Auto in a Western landscape. It is simply amazing. It is probably one of my favourite games of all time.

As I had made a blog post last week about purchasing all of last years WWE DVD’s, I thought I would just give an update. So far I have gotten through 9-out-of-12 PPV’s, mostly when I get the chance to see them, and when I fast forward through a lot of stuff. I will obviously get through the rest sometime this week, and report back on it for the blog. Like I said in my previous blog, I won’t be talking about all the events. I just don’t see the point, they were from 2011.

I appropriately titled this entry “12 Months of WWE PPV’s” for a reason… mostly because I got in the mail today all 13 WWE PPV’s held in 2011.

.

As you can see above, I recently purchased these from JBHIFI Online for $59.98. Which is really cheap considering most of the PPV’s cost at least $20-30 dollars on their own, not including WrestleMania which is mostly $40-to-60 at least.

As an avid wrestling fan I collect a lot of wrestling DVDs, from major promotions (WWE, TNA, ROH) to minor promotions (PWG, Chikara), not just because I have to. I mostly just purchase what I like, and I really couldn’t pass up an opportunity like this. So what this blog is mostly about is the how I will be watching all of these, not in one gigantic marathon, but more so when I get the chance. I won’t be making a blog post reviewing every single event, like I did with PWG’s event yesterday. However, their are some events that I have already reviews on my blog; Royal Rumble and WrestleMania XXVII are the two major ones I have blogged about previously.

You can always follow me on my wrestling review account on twitter for updates as I watch them. That account is where I post all of my wrestling related things, mostly so I don’t clog up my main account.

I have been buying Pro Wrestling Guerrilla DVD’s for the past 2 years now, and I thought it was time I started reviewing these events after I have watched them. Just like I do with the odd WWE PPV (IE: WrestleMania). So what better way to start than with the first event of the year: Kurt RussellReunion 3!

Kurt RussleReunion 3 was originally on January 29th, 2012. This of course was the first event of the year, kicking off at yearly-annual WrestleReunion festival live from Los Angeles, California.

Brian Cage-Taylor & Ryan Taylor vs. Famous B & Chris Kadillak

The first match of the night was the Fightin’ Taylor Boys (Brian Cage-Taylor & Ryan Taylor) vs. Famous B & Chris Kadillak. This was the first of many tag team matches. This card of full of them, and it was a great opener to start with. As usual, the Fightin’ Taylor Boys have been teaming for a while now. And they’re always so enjoyable to watch. Chris Kadillak reminds me of a young Amazing Red. He is really awesome, fast, and enjoyable to watch. Great stuff, I hope he gets booked more.

BxB Hulk vs. Jimmy Susumu

The second match on the card was BxB Hulk vs. Jimmy Susumu. I believe it’s a first for both of these guys to appear in a PWG ring. However, the both of them were really great to watch.

Davey Richards & Harry Smith vs. Matt & Nick Jackson

Ever since Harry Smith was released by the WWE last year, I haven’t seen much of him. However, this time around, it was great to see him again. Because I really wasn’t a fan of his. I am a huge fan of Nick and Matt Jackson, and Davey Richards. So I was definitely looking forward to this match. It was great! I love the dastardly techniques Nick and Matt used to win the match. Those two guys are always so enjoyable to watch.

Naruki Doi vs. Willie Mack

Willie Mack (sporting a new beard) took on Naruki Doi. Another awesome wrestler from Japan to join the show. This match was good. And I was honestly surprised when Millie Mack picked up the win. I was going for him however, so it was great!

Peter Avalon, DEMUS 316, Ray Rosas, & Joey Ryan vs. Cedric Alexander, B-Boy, Candice LeRae, & Mascarita Dorada

This was another huge match that I really enjoyed. Six awesome workers, including Candice LeRae… she is so badass. I find it pretty hilarious that Joey Ryan and Peter Avalon really enjoy harassing Candice LeRae, it’s all for jokes and entertainment obviously. However, with all the commotion in the ring. The entertainment was good. I really don’t have match to say about it, but an awesome mention should go to the Robin-esq attire of Candice.

CIMA & Ricochet vs. Johnny Goodtime & Johnny Yuma

This was a quick paced match. All of these guys are quick, and most definitely technical in the ring. I’m not a really a fan of any of these guys, so I wasn’t really into it. Even though it was fun from start-to-end.

Masaaki Mochizuki vs. Roderick Strong

Roderick Strong took on Masaaki Mochizuki in a hard hitting match. As I have stated above. I’m not really a friend of either of these guys, so I wasn’t really into it. I mean, sure, I do enjoying most of Roderick Strong’s matches. And he is a very good worker, but I just wasn’t into it.

El Generico, PAC, & Masato Yoshino vs. Super Dragon, Kevin Steen, & Akira Tozawa

This match was appropriately titled: ‘Never-In-Your-Wildest-Dreams-Match II,’ and how ironic that was, because it was a very fun match. When you’ve got Kevin Steen, Super Dragon, and Akira Tozawa in a match. It is just always good. I really don’t have match to say. It was a fun match! I was really enjoying it, oh so much!

I highly suggest checking out this event from PWG.
